Meet Jane: Neurodivergent Advocate and Community Leader
Grayce helped Jayne connect with other parents facing a neurodivergent diagnosis and build an empowering community.
Grayce helped Jubin navigate his role as a new parent, while also supporting aging parents in India.
Jubin is a software engineer who lives in San Francisco with his wife and toddler. His parents live thousands of miles away in India. When Jubin moved to the United States, he made a personal commitment to continue to find a way to care for them.
His parents come from a modest background and had always reactively approached healthcare–they only went to the doctor when needed. When Jubin’s dad was diagnosed with diabetes, Jubin worried that his parents needed more from their health care than they were getting. Since he lived on an entirely different continent, he had no idea how to find that support.
That’s when Jubin found Gracye. Through his Care Partner, Jubin was able to help his parents find a healthcare plan that met their needs. Navigating different time zones, distinct medical systems, and healthcare mobility in India was challenging, but his Grayce advisors found a couple of health plans that would work. They also found local caregivers and transportation assistance to get his parents to appointments. His Grayce Care Partner even arranged for assistance running errands and getting groceries.
Around the same time Jubin was working to navigate health care for his parents in India, his wife got pregnant. As Jubin welcomed his new baby, he sought ways to support his wife through the postpartum phase while balancing work and the needs of his growing family. He sought help from Grayce yet again.
He joined one of Grayce’s “Gather” communities and connected with other members facing similar situations. He remembers when he realized that he and his wife were in a new phase of their relationship–they were not just partners but also parents. This new dynamic led to complex emotions, and Jubin found camaraderie and support from other Grayce members. Reading comments, posting his questions, and exploring other people’s posts gave him confidence that he wasn’t alone.
As he’s cared for multiple family members, Jubin has learned that it takes patience to understand the emotional and physical needs of others. He admits that caring for others can feel lonely without the right support system, so he’s grateful that Grayce has provided that.
Jubin believes that no one should sacrifice their mental health to care for loved ones. There are ways to find support while still caring for those you love. Grayce is one of those ways.
